Major Rudolf Anderson Memorial
This plane is a memorial to Major Rudolf Anderson, native of Greenville, SC and Clemson University graduate. He was the only combat casualty of the Cuban Missile crisis.
When he was shot down, he was flying a U-2 spy-plane, but this is not a replica. It actually looks like a F-86 Saber fighter plane, the first plane Anderson flew for the US Air Force.

My wife noticed balloons in the sky, so we jumped in the car to give chase! We traveled all the way to downtown Simpsonville and back up to Five Forks. My wife and soon took these pictures.
