This plane is a memorial to Major Rudolf Anderson, native of Greenville, SC and Clemson University graduate. He was the only combat casualty of the Cuban Missile crisis.

When he was shot down, he was flying a U-2 spy-plane, but this is not a replica. It actually looks like a F-86 Saber fighter plane, the first plane Anderson flew for the US Air Force.
