Some birds can’t resist a good snack, even if it means stuffing their beaks with more than they can handle. Check out these hilarious photos of big eaters; birds that got caught with a mouthful of food.
When I saw these Java sparrows, I thought of the old 80s arcade game, Joust.
When squirrels come across an especially spectacular nut, they’ll often gather and stare in amazement… very similar to how they’re looking at you right now.
Dancing to the beat of life! This Java Sparrow is having a blast on a sunny day. Look at those moves!
Look closely at the top of the picture and you can see a Java Sparrow peaking over the edge.
This Java Sparrow comes in for a smooth landing at Aloha Acres
These are my favorite bird buddies from the last week.
This chipmunk has found his way onto the suet cage I put out again this week. I put out peanuts for Chippy and his family, but they’ve taken all of them and probably stored them up for winter. He hasn’t made his way onto the Bird Buddy, but it may just be a matter of time.
When I first saw this Eurasian magpie I thought it looked a lot like the Grackles that visited my yard at home. But they are two unrelated species.
Magpies belong to the family Corvidae, which includes crows, ravens, and jays, while grackles belong to the family Icteridae, which includes blackbirds, orioles, and meadowlarks 123.
This Yellow-billed Cardinal is one of the prettiest birds at the Aloha Acres feeder.

This is the best picture of a Saffron Finch I’ve gotten from Aloha Acres. When you see the body, it looks a lot like the American Goldfinch I see in my backyard, but the yellow is more orange.
This Amethyst Sunbird comes to us from South Africa.
🤗 An amazing California Quail from a Bird Buddy in New Zealand.
The Bird Buddy at Aloha Acres gets crowded. I believe these birds are a Java Sparrow and Saffron Finches.
